Steven Eldred is an experienced Family Law practitioner, admitted to the California and Federal Bar in 1992. Mr. Eldred had a solo law practice where he emphasized Family Law and Taxation. He spent 7 years as a Deputy District Attorney, doing civil and criminal prosecutions, as well as appearances in Workers Compensation, Bankruptcy and Federal Courts.
Mr. Eldred spent 17 years as an administrator for the Orange County Department of Child Support Services, including 12 years as Director. In that time the Department won over 20 awards for innovation, excellence, data analysis and customer service. During his County tenure Mr. Eldred was active in program research and legislative efforts, including writing and testifying in support of family law legislation. He wrote the principal practice guide for government child support practitioners, and has been a frequent lecturer at the state and national level for 25 years.
Mr. Eldred has a Bachelor’s Degree (Political Science) from UC Davis; a J.D. and Masters of Laws (LL.M) in Taxation from Golden Gate University, and a Masters in Public Administration from California State University, Dominguez Hills. Mr. Eldred served in the US Army Reserve Judge Advocate General Corps (JAG) for 23 years, retiring at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Mr. Eldred’s military duties and deployments took him all over the world, and allowed him to practice military justice, administrative law, contract/fiscal law, international and family law.
Mr. Eldred has two adult sons. He and his wife live in Orange County and take advantage of the lovely beaches and ocean whenever possible.
Mr. Eldred’s practice is exclusively family law and associated legal issues.
