How Much Will My Divorce Cost?

Legal Costs – Moshtael Family Law in Orange County

Our goal is to always complete the divorce as quickly and thoroughly as possible, however many factors can reduce the pace of the process including the fact that judges in Orange County are usually overworked. You can ask for a trial date and the court can set it five months from now. In this case, the time it takes to complete the divorce is no longer a function of the attorney, or the client, or the opposing party, but simply a function of the court system being backed up, which in a way forces people to settle.

At Moshtael Family Law, one way in which we help our clients financially is by setting up a monthly budget. Should our clients request us to do so, we send our clients an email every month in which we advise our anticipated legal costs for next month based upon what has been occurring in their case and what we expect to do the following month. This is just an estimate and we ask our clients if they are comfortable with the budget.

We also save our clients money by offering the services of a dedicated in-house CPA. This eliminates the need for our clients to pay separate large retainers for a forensic accountant since our in-house CPA provides financial analyses at a fraction of the cost. Other services offered in house include income analyses (for support, property division, etc.) and tax preparation pending or post divorce.
